Precautions for use of medical face masks

Precautions for use of medical face masks

1. Wear it at the right time

Medical protective face masks can be continuously applied for 6-8 hours, and should be replaced in time when: the respiratory resistance is significantly increased (when breathing is difficult); the mask is damaged or destroyed; the mask cannot be tightly attached to the face (when the tightness test cannot be passed); Contaminated (such as when stained with foreign matter such as blood stains or droplets); used in isolation wards or in contact with patients (because the mask is contaminated); if the mask contains activated carbon, there is an odor in the mask.

2. Adhesion test after wearing

Wearing a medical mask should be tested for facial adhesion. The simple test method is: after putting on a medical mask, exhale hard, and air cannot leak out from the edge of the mask.

3. Do not squeeze the mask with your hands

Various masks, including N95 masks, can only isolate the virus on the surface of the mask. If the mask is squeezed by hand, the virus will wet the mask with the droplets, there is still a chance to infect the virus.

4. Post-treatment methods for medical face masks

Do not discard abandoned medical masks, otherwise it will cause secondary pollution. Medical masks that have been used under normal circumstances should be placed in a medical waste container. The protective efficiency and wearing time of medical masks are issues of concern to everyone. Although it is important to pay attention to the filtering efficiency when selecting a medical mask, it is also necessary to choose a good sealing performance, which can be closely fitted to the face shape, and choose a breathable one.
